Our History

Canadian Career Academy has been offering employment and business development services since 1986. The Employment Resource Centre, which is now a key service of the Academy, was initially launched as one of three pilot projects in Ontario. Over the years, the organization has grown and evolved, expanding its services to include employer supports and vocational training programs.

Canadian Career Academy has a long and diverse history of providing employment and business development services. The organization’s services have included:

  • youth summer experience placement projects,
  •  full service Employment Resource Center
  • job finding clubs
  • job search resource centers
  • Career Orientation Pathways to Employment (COPE), a career decision-making program
  • Multi-employer and service provider career fairs
  • vocational training programs, such as
    • circuit board construction
    • office administration,
    • fibre optic and wafer fab training for Nortel, and more recently,
    • training for personal support workers, developmental service workers and DZ drivers

Canadian Career Academy has recently introduced its own Virtual Conference and Job Fair tool, MyEventsVirtual.ca, to further enhance its services.

For over 35 years, Canadian Career Academy has been a top provider of employment and training services in the region. We are committed to uninterrupted service to the community and fostering workforce development through strategic partnerships and alliances.
