We are an Employment Ontario funded project designed to bring together job seekers, incumbent workers, employers, and community partners to develop and improve Human Resources and recruitment practices in Lanark and Renfrew Counties.
Shelley has worked with the Canadian Career Academy for the past 15+ years in a variety of capacities including Project Lead, Employment Specialist, Human Resources Specialist and Job Developer. Prior to joining CCA she worked as an Associate Coach for Career Joy and has extensive Human Resources experience in the hospitality industry in Ontario and New Jersey spanning over 15 years. Shelley is passionate about collaborating to bring work force solutions to local employers and encourage diversity in the workforce.

Originally from Timmins, Ontario, Sonja Robert-Steeves is now based out of Smiths Falls. Sonja has an extensive customer service, teaching (ESL), and managerial background and has worked with people for her entire career. Her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Victoria combined with her personal and professional experience have been critical in developing her expertise in relationship building.
Erin holds a Communication Studies Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a recent graduate from the Office Administration Executive program at Algonquin College. Her educational background paired with her 10+ years of customer service and hospitality experience make her a great fit for our team. You will see most of Erin’s creative skills on the Work Matters social media pages and other forms of advertising throughout the community.
