Manager

The Lanark County Food Bank (LCFB) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time manager to lead our day-to-day operations in the absence of the full-time manager: every Tuesday 3-8pm and for vacation and sick time coverage. The ideal candidate will have
strong leadership skills, experience in non-profit or community organizations, and a passion for supporting individuals and families in need.

This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of our programs, fostering community relationships, managing volunteers, and safeguarding the long-term sustainability of the food bank.

Key Responsibilities
Administration & Management
• Open, close, and secure the food bank during normal working hours, remaining on site while LCFB is open.
• Oversee daily operations including food receipt, storage, and distribution of donations; scheduling client appointments; and scheduling, training and supervision of volunteers.
• Maintain appropriate grocery and office supplies including ordering all groceries and office supplies as needed.
• Ensure client, volunteer, staff, and Board documentation is safeguarded against unauthorized disclosure.
• Collect donor information, track and secure monetary donations.

Leadership & Strategic Planning
• Act as a spokesperson for LCFB when donors or stakeholders are present at the food bank.
• Lead and motivate volunteers through clear communication, and delegation.

Finance & Compliance
• Safeguard petty cash and ensure accurate use of the LCFB credit card for approved purchases only.

Qualifications Required:
• Proven leadership experience, ideally in a non-profit or community services environment.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, including experience with scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with volunteers, clients, and donors.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred:
• Experience with food security programs or volunteer coordination.
