The Role
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food according to recipes and standards in a timely and efficient manner, as well as preparing and cooking a variety of food products that will be sold in retail stores or online. Your primary objective is to ensure that dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing ingredients and food products according to recipes, production schedules, and standards, including measuring, cutting, and seasoning, with a focus on consistency and quality.
- Ensuring that all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and packaged correctly for storage and distribution.
- Cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, including equipment, utensils, and workspaces.
- Communicating effectively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure that all food items are prepared, packaged, and served on time.
- Assisting with inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients and materials.
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage, handling, and labeling of food products.
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times, including interacting with customers and other staff members.
- Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, and ovens.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and preparation methods, including knife skills and basic cooking methods such as sautéing, grilling, and frying.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- A commitment to cleanliness and food safety, with a deep understanding of regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for food and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience to every customer.
- The ability to work in standing positions for extended periods of time.
