The Role

As the CiderHouse Bar Team Leader, you will be the embodiment of Saunders Farm’s mission, vision, and values. You will supervise and mentor a diverse team including bartenders, servers, line cooks, expo staff, and hosts/bussers, ensuring they adhere to our high standards of customer service and company standards. Your role will involve creating memorable experiences and building lasting relationships with guests, promptly addressing any complaints or issues to ensure their satisfaction throughout their visit. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Provide hands-on coaching and structured training for new team members, ensuring they are effectively onboarded and equipped with the skills necessary for success
  • Managing inventory levels, performing regular checks, and maintaining accurate records to ensure we are always well-stocked with bar supplies and food ingredients.
  • Analyze bar and food service performance metrics, recommending and implementing improvements to boost efficiency and profitability
  • Overseeing kitchen staff to ensure prep par levels are met, maintaining food quality, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Upholding health and safety regulations by maintaining a clean and safe work environment is paramount.
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage, aligning with directives from the Food and Beverage Operations Manager, and collaborate closely with them to review performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • SmartServe Certification – required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality diploma or degree an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bar or restaurant setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.
  • Must be available Wednesday through Sunday.
  • Must obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications.
