Supplement Sales Specialist

The Granary is now hiring a part-time Supplement Sales Specialist for our downtown Carleton Place store. This position is perfect for a team player who has a strong background in holistic health, nutrition, health and wellness, customer service and is passionate about living an active, healthy lifestyle!

Your day-to-day:

In this role, you will connect with people every single day, and help make a positive impact on their lives. You will become a member of the local natural health community and create relationships with repeat clients.

Ensure a highly positive Granary experience by providing excellent customer service, including answering questions regarding supplements and vitamins, resolving customer complaints, and helping customers to discover relevant products to help them on their own path to great health, naturally.

Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge through continued training and education. Stay informed about new supplement products, industry trends, and regulatory changes to provide informed recommendations to customers.

Participate in merchandising and promotional activities by working with management and suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels and implement product promotions including in-store displays & merchandising, new product launches and features.

Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers, brokers and sales reps within the supplement department. Work to utilize available co-op opportunities and marketing dollar allowances, maintain physical information for customers (pamphlets etc)

Demonstrate initiative and innovation in developing and implementing new ways to motivate customer needs, educate and introduce them to new product lines

Ensure proper pricing and rotation of products and tracking of short dated products to prevent loss. Process supplement returns to suppliers.

Process customer sales and returns on the POS quickly, accurately and efficiently.

Assist in inventory control including the ordering and receiving of product through the POS and the stocking of shelves.

Ensuring the store cleanliness is always upheld to a superior standard. Maintain organization and an orderly supplement department for a safe and enjoyable shopping experience.

Maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner, both in the store and within the community.

What you bring:

Must have knowledge of natural health, including vitamins, supplements, and nutrition. Formal education in holistic health, herbalism, nutrition, homeopathy or similar considered an asset.

1-3 years of previous customer service experience in a retail setting, preferably in supplements, herbal remedies, and personal care products

Experience in maintaining operational excellence in a retail store (basic understanding of importance and relevance of POS, inventory control and sales targets.)

Driven and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a positive energy. Have the ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision

Posses the ability to multitask, while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business

Able to effectively work and communicate in English within a small, close knit team. Second language considered an asset.

Physical strength. This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least three consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting and climbing stools.

Ability to work primarily week day shifts with the occasional evening and weekend.
