Accessibility Statement and Plan

At Canadian Career Academy, we are committed to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion. Our goal is to ensure that everyone, including people with disabilities, can access and use our website and services on an equal basis.

We are actively working to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to accessibility and aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, an internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.

Accessibility Plan

In compliance with Canadian accessibility legislation, we have developed a multi-year accessibility plan. This living document outlines our strategy and actions for improving accessibility across our organization and digital platforms.

Our plan addresses key areas, including:

  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT): Ensuring our website, digital documents (such as PDFs and Word files), and any web-based applications are accessible.

  • Customer Service: Providing accessible ways for people with disabilities to interact with our services.

  • Employment: Creating inclusive hiring practices and accessible workplace information for all employees.

  • The Built Environment (if applicable): Addressing physical barriers in our offices and public spaces.

  • Procurement: Considering accessibility when purchasing goods, services, and facilities.

Website Accessibility Features

Our website uses industry-standard techniques and best practices to provide the highest level of web accessibility, including:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All website functions are available and operable using only a keyboard.

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We use structured semantic markup and descriptive alternative text for images to ensure compatibility with screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver).

  • Sufficient Color Contrast: We ensure optimal contrast between text and backgrounds for users with visual impairments or color blindness.

  • Resizable Text: Users can zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen or loss of content/functionality.

  • Clear and Simple Language: We strive to make all content easy to read and understand.

  • Consistent Design: Navigation and functional components are predictable and appear in the same place and order across pages.

Feedback Process

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we welcome your feedback on any barriers you encounter. If you have experienced any difficulties or have recommendations for enhancing web accessibility, please contact us.

We will acknowledge receipt of your feedback in the same manner it was sent (e.g., via email, phone, or mail).
