Kitchen Maintenance
The position of Kitchen Maintenance will be responisible for cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment. This role ensures a steady supply of clean, sanitized items and equipment to ensure smooth operations in our company. Receiving stock and put away of deliveries are also an important duty for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Washes, sorts, and stores dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchenware by hand.
Maintains a clean and organized dish area, including cleaning all floors in the bakery, dish racks, and storage areas.
Cleans and sanitizes sinks, and kitchen equipment (e.g., mixers, stoves and exhaust hood filters) to ensure proper hygiene.
Empties and cleans trash and recycling containers, and transports waste to designated disposal areas.
Receives inbound shipments and moves product to proper location in the kitchen.
Follows all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and infection control procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Reliability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and strong time management.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation; food handler certification is an asset.
Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
Working Conditions
Operates in a hot, wet, and potentially slippery kitchen environment.
Exposure to strong cleaning chemicals, hot water, and loud machinery.
Shifts may include evenings, weekends – up to 40 per week or until job is completed
